Job Description:
Waterwork stainless steel manufactures high-quality stainless steel fittings for the mega yacht industry. Their product range includes everything from simple polished stainless steel scuppers to extremely complex components such as stairs or windscreens with curved glass. All work is handled from sketch through engineering, production, finishing, and final onboard installation. They also produce solid stainless steel 316L half-round bars (in various sizes) and can work according to customer specification (e.g. fixing holes, back welded flat bars, high gloss polish, brushed or pearl blast finish). Their philosophy emphasizes perfection, short lead times, clear communication, and treating every product as a one-off.
Experience in grinding stainless steel workpieces, ideally in a marine or yacht outfitting environment.
Ability to work on custom, one-off products, with attention to detail (e.g., curved surfaces, high gloss finishes, no visible welds).
Skill in using grinding tools safely and effectively, achieving high surface quality.
Capacity for reading basic technical drawings or work orders (to understand shapes, tolerances, and finish levels).
Strong quality awareness: ensuring final products meet aesthetic and functional standards (smoothness, polish, uniform finish).
Good physical condition and manual dexterity (grinding can be repetitive and physically demanding).
Ability to collaborate with welders, fabricators, and the engineering/design team: to understand how finish work integrates with welds, assembly, etc.
