Vacancy: OP Welder – Build the Future of Offshore Wind Energy

Are you an experienced welder looking for a challenging job in a high-tech and sustainable industry? Then this position as OP Welder is perfect for you!

As an OP Welder, you will produce high-quality weld connections using (semi-)automatic welding machines, fully in compliance with applicable welding standards. You will be working on foundation piles for offshore wind turbines/monopiles in the North Sea. These piles consist of rolled steel rings that are automatically welded together using advanced OP welding machines. You will receive several weeks of internal training at our client's site, enabling you to work independently and safely with these specialized machines. In addition, you will: Perform minor preventive maintenance on the welding machines; Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized workplace; Provide a proper handover to the next shift. You will work in an international team, so it is important that you have a good command of English, Dutch, or German.

Your Responsibilities: Perform various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, and Electrode welding; Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols; Set up and operate welding equipment and automated welding machinery; Determine the correct working methods; Take initiative within established guidelines; Perform quality checks and inspect welds for defects.

  • Work Time:

3-shift rotation:
Morning shift 06:00 – 14:00
Afternoon shift 14:00 – 22:00
Night shift 22:00 – 06:00

  • Salary:

€560 – €580 gross per week (based on 37.5 hours in the morning shift)

Shift allowances:
Afternoon shift: 128%
Night shift: 135%
Overtime & Saturday: 175%
Sunday: 200%

  • Experience:

Experience as a welder (experience with OP welding or automated welding processes is an advantage).
Technical insight and a precise working approach.
Willingness to work in shifts.
A proactive, responsible, and team-oriented attitude.
Technical background and/or education in the metal industry.
Knowledge of and experience with welding techniques, including:
Manual welding processes: 136 (FCAW), 111 (SMAW), 138 (GMAW).
OP welding process: 121 (SAW) is an advantage.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Willingness to obtain a VCA certificate in the Netherlands (mandatory for working at SIF).
Open to learning how to operate overhead cranes and industrial transport vehicles (lorries).
